1. Introduction (The Basics)

Welcome to SplitMyBill, created by CODE4UTECH CONSULTANCY PVT. LTD. We want to explain our privacy rules in simple English. We built this app to help you split bills easily, completely for free. We do not want your personal secrets, and we respect your privacy.

2. What Information Do We Collect?

Almost nothing. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or password. You don't even need to create an account to use the app.

The only information we process is what you type into the app—like group names, expense titles, and amounts. We use this strictly to do the math and split your bills.

3. How Long Do We Keep Your Data?

We store your bill details temporarily in our secure database for up to 10 days. This is just so you can share the link with your friends and check the bill again later. After 10 days, our system automatically and permanently deletes everything. We do not keep backups of your old bills.

4. Your Right to Delete Data (GDPR & Global Rights)

Whether you live in India, the European Union (EU), or anywhere else, you have complete control over your data. Because we don't know who you are, we can't tie data to a specific person. However, you can:

• Clear your browser cache to delete data from your phone or computer immediately.
• Email us at support@code4utech.com if you want us to manually delete a specific bill link from our server before the 10 days are up.

5. Ads and Tracking (How We Keep It Free)

SplitMyBill is 100% free. To pay for our servers, we show advertisements using Google Ads, and we use Google Analytics to see how many people use our site.

These Google services use "cookies" (small files saved on your browser) to show you relevant ads and track anonymous website usage. We never sell your data to anyone. You can turn off personalized ads anytime in your Google Account settings.

6. Security (Keeping You Safe)

We use strong security measures, like encryption and strict access rules, to protect our database. We do not allow any untracked or unauthorized access. Even though we only keep data for 10 days, we treat it with the highest security.

7. International Users (EU/GDPR & Global)

We are a company based in India. If you are using SplitMyBill from outside India (like the EU, UK, or USA), please know that your data is processed on our servers in accordance with Indian law. By using the app, you agree to this. Even if our app doesn't fall strictly under every single foreign law, we voluntarily follow the best global privacy practices (like the EU's GDPR principles) by minimizing data collection, never selling your data, and deleting it automatically.
